The Sly Persuaders are premiering their music video for “Control” today. They play a show tonight at Genesis Cineman alongside a showing of Repo Man (1984).

“Control was the first song we wrote for our second album, so it seemed right that it’s the first single from it. It sets the tone for the record pretty well, since it deals with the politics overkill we’ve had over the past couple of years (which has influenced the lyrics on a few of the new album’s songs). We were lucky enough to have Stacy Picard and Vaughan Matthews doing the video for us and they did a really stunning job. We shot it at Survival Studios on their very last day of business – we’d previously shot the video for ‘Watch and Learn’ there and I’ve been there a lot over the years so it was pretty sad to see it go.” – The Sly Persuaders
