News: FVNERAL Collab With jnr. On ’25’

FVNERAL

Indie up-and-comers FVNERAL join forces with fellow Australian-based pop artist jnr. on the emo hyperpop ballad “25.” Opening with oscillating synths, “25” paints a nostalgic soundscape that is a major step forward for a band that formed in 2022 and is in its early years.

“Believe it or not, ‘25’ started off as my attempt to make a Lil Peep song,” the band’s songwriter and brainchild Tim Blunt says. “We decided to ask Ben (jnr.) to jump on the song. Within less than an hour together in the studio, it felt like we’d crack the code.”

Co-produced by jnr. and Blunt, “25” welcomes in a new era for both artists, as they explore new, sonic and thematic territory. The tune reminds listeners of acts like CHVRCHES or The Postal Service, but its ramped-up tempo is a breakaway from what typical indie bands attempt.

“The last piece of the puzzle fell into place when jnr. got stuck in production-wise and really took it up a notch,” Blunt continues.

“25” will likely join FVNERAL’s other work on major playlists and in the pages of music magazines. But the band goes beyond its music, establishing a positive space for trans artists to showcase their art. The group founded TRANSGENRE, Australia’s first and only festival with an entirely trans lineup.

FVNERAL will be hitting the road throughout August and September in support of “25” with emo rockers Late November and artist Lakelend. Watch out for future release and shows from the band here.
