Pop punk and alternative band 408 makes major strides with a pair of recent developments. The band announced their first New York City headline show while releasing a new song titled “Smash The Mirror.”
The song is the group’s first with the legendary musician and producer John Feldmann helping craft the track.
“We got to create this song with one of our idols,” the band say. “It was an amazing experience getting to write about a universal topic about life and struggles.”
Feldmann is best known as the frontman for ska band Goldfinger. But he has a history of breaking in young acts, most famously The Used and most recently girlfriends.
It’s not the first time 408 taped an established name to help create a song. Recently, members of Relient K joined in on the creation process for 408’s track “Remember Her Like That.”
“The band wanted to tap into their Jimmy Eat World inspirations and make a song that was energetic and anthemic,”” 408 mention in a press release about that song. “The band and writers sat in a room in Nashville and shared a story that many have gone through when you no longer have the person you love in your life, but you will always remember her.”
408 is one of the scene’s fastest risers after releasing its majorly successful EP release, Generational, earlier this year. The crew is about to hit the road with We The Kings, stopping in New York City after they open for the scene giants in Buffalo.
The band will rock out The Sultan Room in NYC on January, 13 with Goalkeeper and SUM SUN opening. Get more information on that show, the We The Kings tour and future music here.
