News: 408 Release New EP ‘Generational’

With a wave of positive momentum behind them, alternative and pop punk band 408 release their latest, five-track collection of songs titled Generational. The Orlando natives also put out a music video for the EP’s title track.

“With Generational, 408 set out to create a unique piece of pop punk/alternative music that pulled from the many roots each member has,” the band say. “It was a unified message of life lessons learned the hard way, lost friendships, reminiscing on the past and infidelity.”

“College Kids” reflects that sentiment; it’s a perfectly nostalgic track about promises broken and relationships lost with time. But it’s the singles “We Don’t Get High Like We Used To” and “againagainagain” that spur the EP’s quantifiable success. The tracks quickly combined for two million Spotify streams and millions more listens across the social platforms.

With the attention to the two songs comes more monthly listens to the tune of around 400,000 in total. The band also opened So What?! Music Festival and joined fellow Floridians Magnolia Park on the track “Manic.”

Catchy and innovative, it’s easy to get absorbed in 408’s musicianship. But their song writing is top tier and listeners are doing themselves a disservice by not paying attention to the lyrics.

“No matter who you are as a person or where you live, we all go through and experience the same things, and thus is the meaning of the EP Generational,” the band continue.
