News: 408 Release ‘We Don’t Get High Like We Used To’

Florida alternative band 408 drop their newest track “We Don’t Get High Like We Used To.” The highly anticipated song collected momentum on TikTok prior to its release, earning more than two million views. The song helped 408 grow their audience on streaming platforms with nearly 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

“The band set out to write a song about nothing ever being the same as it was. Mark (Faroudi) specifically referenced times in his old hometown of Venice, FL of forgotten friends and people that no longer exist in his life,” the band say.

While 408 often utilize their deep bag of musical tricks, regularly teetering between alternative rock and pop while frequently borrowing hip-hop tendencies, this song is pure pop punk. It’s construction is simple but packs plenty of vocal variation. The lyrics are relatable and nostalgic.

“The song talks about lost love, lost friendships, and the hard truth of growing up,” 408 continue.

Written in Nashville but recorded in Orlando, “We Don’t Get High Like We Used To” is the first of multiple releases to come from the band in the coming months. Fans and scene observers should keep a keen eye on their progress.
