One of pop punk’s fastest risers, Florida natives 408, build momentum with their new album Hot Mess released through Big Noise Music Group. The band’s first major release under new management is quintessential 408, but with a clear progression from previous releases.
“Hot Mess was an album where we dove into multiple influences of our roots and tastes. We touched on breakups, long lost friendships, partying, and many other life lessons,” the band say.
Hot Mess is notching notable playlist numbers. Big Noise Music Group share that the album’s songs have already been streamed more than 2.5 million times, charting in the top five of a multiple, major scene Spotify playlists. It’s also up near the top of a handful of Apple Music playlists.
Bursting with pop-punk bangers, the album opens with its most streamed tune “Remember Her Like That,” which is quickly becoming one the band’s most popular songs on the live setlist. The album’s second tune, “Girl Of MY Dreams,” is also notching numbers on streaming platforms.
“Hot Mess” is one of 408’s more complex and cleanly produced tracks. The legendary producer and Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann helped put together “Smash The Mirror,” while “Down” is an absolute standout tune. “666 In The Morning” ropes multiple corners of the alternative scene into a wild, three-minute bop. The album’s final tune, “Glow On,” is an interesting departure from the rest of the 408’s work; a club-worthy track reflective of the band’s versatility.
408 is touring the East Coast and Midwest in support of its new album through mid May. The lineup is loaded, including Telltale, Silly Goose, Crooked Teeth, Greywind, and Definitely Maybe, depending on the stop.
Fresh off the new album, 408 plans to put out a new song in May. Keep a close on one the scene’s young stars here.
