News: A Place To Bury Strangers Announce RSD Exclusive LP, ‘Hologram: Destroyed & Disassembled’

Brooklyn’s weird yet loveable spacey noise-rock trio, A Place To Bury Strangers, released their lean, mean Hologram  EP on July 16th of this year. Though the band aren’t done with their latest five-track work, with the psychedelic group plotting to release a new remix LP of it, entitled Hologram: Destroyed & Disassembled.

Slated as an RSD Black Friday exclusive out November 26th via Dedstrange – guitarist, vocalist and bandleader Oliver Ackermann’s label – will turn what was once five songs into 13 new “deconstructed and expanded” remixes. Guest mixes include the work of Penelope Isles, Do Nothing, BODEGA, Weeping Icon, The Bodies Obtained, as well as label mates Jealous, Data Animal, and Plattenbau, to name a few.

This RSD vinyl announcement came packaged with a music video for “Playing The Part,” directed by Heather Bickford – Ackermann’s fiancé, also a fellow member of the Death By Audio collective. “Playing The Part” is a terse yet melodic post-punk jam, mostly due to Ackermann’s soothing vocal melodies, and is helpfully glued together through John Fedowitz’s overwhelming bass lines and Sandra Fedowitz’ fittingly restrained patterns. It’s something a little different for the group dynamically. Unlike some of their older, more famous works that took the direct approach of “what if an effects pedal suddenly became sentient?” Read more about that music video right here.
