A Place To Bury Strangers share new video for track, “I Disappear (When You’re Near.”)
The song can be found on their new album, See Through You out now and due out on vinyl March 11.
“When I’m on my own, I can be a bit destructive,” says vocalist Oliver Ackermann. “But sometimes that special person comes along, and you melt into infinity.” “I Disappear (When You’re Near)” seeps through a powerful rhythm. The track emphasizes disorienting guitars and the track pulls to a close. Vocals are emotive between layered sequences.
The visual, directed by Keith Thomas (The Vigil, Firestarter) showcases a woman after a gruesome fight to the death. Viewers watch as she crawls towards her opponent on an dreary concrete floor.
“I’ve always wanted to dig into music videos. When APTBS approached me, I was just coming off of two big projects back-to-back,” says Thomas regarding the video. “So jumping into a run-and-gun, down-and-dirty film like this was a nice digestif. ‘I Disappear (When You’re Near)’ is a great, enigmatic song and I wanted to give it an enigmatic visual component. You won’t know how our two protagonists, Kika Magalhaes (The Eyes Of My Mother) and Malky Goldman (The Vigil), started fighting but you’re about to find out how their bloody melee ends.”
In Addition, the band is set to go on tour starting in March, tickets are now available.
