Atmospheric black metal act Shylmagoghnar marks his return with a third studio album, titled Convergence, through Napalm Records. The band have also released a music video for the single “The Sea.”

“‘The Sea’ is the penultimate track of the third album, ‘Convergence,’ which also marks the end of Shylmagoghnar’s initial trilogy. It is the conclusion of a journey started so long ago. A place which welcomes all who have learned to let go. Weary traveller, your fight is over. Welcome back.

Convergence is the third and last part of a trilogy of albums that started with the release of Emergence in 2014. The next album, Transience, was released in 2018. The last part of an epic, Convergence deals with the matter of an inward journey of death that a person has to make through before being able to pass on. The record gives the message of letting go of positive and negative themes of the past which keep us from advancing in our lives and finding peace.
Shylmagoghnar started out as a duo back in 2004, only to be turned into a one-man-band. With the forthcoming album, the act returns even mightier than ever. Convergence marks the deepest and most personal Shylmagoghnar record to date, as it is dedicated to Nimblkorg’s late mother.
