Levitation and Resound are bringing Austin Psych Fest back! It’ll take place April 26-28 2024 at the Far Out Lounge in Austin, Texas.
The Far Out Lounge is an outdoor venue with a 100 year history in Southern Austin. It brings an old school vibe of the original event back outdoors and under the stars and in oak trees with the venue’s backyard. This year’s lineup offers an international composition of psych rock, dream pop, and indie rock, hinting at the 1960’s golden era of psychedelia as well as an eye toward the future.
The trees, stage, and venue will be drenched and dripping in the liquid light and visuals of video artists Mad Alchemy, TV Eye, and drip//cuts. Festival founders The Black Angels will be debuting a new visual experience at APF’24 in collaboration with TV Eye.

Austin Psych Fest started in 2008 as a DIY event produced by The Black Angels and friends. It quickly grew over the years into an international destination for the underground music scene. The event was renamed Levitation, to give homage to Austin’s psychedelic rock godfathers, The 13th Floor Elevators, who reunited to play the event in 2015.
Austin Psych Fest returned in April 2023, celebrating its 15-year anniversary with a three-day throwback to the original multi-stage, single venue format. APF honors the city’s 1960s psychedelic rock heritage and bringing it into the tripped-out sounds to an appropriately laid-back South Austin setting.
The Reverberation Appreciation Society are the record label and creative collective behind the curation, artwork and aesthetic of Levitation and Austin Psych Fest. Since 2010, the label has been releasing records with key bands in the psych and garage rock scene. APF is also presented with Austin independent promoters Resound Presents. Composed of the team behind the legendary Fun Fun Fun Festival, Resound books and presents over 1000 shows in Central Texas each year. As for Levitation, it will be returning for the Halloween weekend: October 21-November 4, 2024.
