Alternative rock band AVE’s new song “Serpents,” featuring Joshua Roberts from Magnolia Park, continues to draw in a strong listenership since its release two weeks ago. The track combines AVE, which stands for A Valiant Effort, with a fellow, Florida rising star.
“The song was actually inspired by the shadiness of people,” the band say. “We named it ‘Serpents’ to represent all the snakes in the world that if given the chance will bite you.”
The hard-hitting track has already racked up tens of thousands of listens and views through streaming platforms and YouTube. Both AVE and Roberts hail from Orlando, one of the alternative scene’s newest and most vibrant hotbeds.
“We wanted to bring Josh in because he always gives a song energy, and that’s exactly what he did. We made the music video, and we chose snow to symbolize it’s a cold world,” the band continue.
