Florida four-piece AVE, which stands for A Valiant Effort, just released their latest song “Let Down” along with a music video to accompany the track. The release follows “Valhalla” and “Soul Vacancy,” showcasing the band’s versatility.
Drawing influences from the early aughts pop punk era, “Let Down” is a hook-driven anthem that explores the rollercoaster highs and lows of a toxic relationship.
“The song ‘Let Down’ is about a toxic relationship that makes the other person feel worthless,” the band share. “The type of relationship that logic says you should get out of, but something keeps you there. It is inspired by a real-life relationship and details the emotional rollercoaster that happened. The song is available everywhere along with a music video. The song is for anyone going through a breakup, or anyone who just loves modern pop-punk vibes.”
“Let Down” fuses lead singer Mike Myerson’s angst-ridden delivery with guest vocalist Christian Perez’s sneer. The song blends classic pop punk with modern beats.
A Valiant Effort belong to a group of progressive, pop-punk bands hailing from Orlando, FL. They balance metal and alternative, sometimes incorporating hip-hop beats. It’s hard to pigeonholed a band like AVE. They’ll continue turning heads.
