Feminist pop-punkers Bad Cop/Bad Cop recently released a new single called “Safe and Legal.” The new single, alongside the previous single from this summer called “Shattered,” will make up the group’s new double A-side 7″ Shattered/Safe and Legal, which is due out December 8 from Fat Wreck Chords. The new single is a fierce pro-choice anthem in response to the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. “Abortion is a crucial aspect of healthcare, and everyone should have the right to access it without facing any form of social judgment,” says the band’s bassist Linh Lee, who sings lead vocals on the new singles. “Our ongoing effort is to remove legal restrictions and integrate them as a routine medical procedure. It’s a private healthcare matter, plain and simple.”
Alongside the new single comes a powerful new political music video for the track directed by Josh Roush. Check out the video below.
