After teasing fans with The Red and The Blue EPs, the punk band, Bayside, have announced a new album, There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive. It’s set to be released digitally April 5 via Hopeless Records. The physical version will be a vailable on May 10. The new album will combine the previous two EPs as well as five brand new tracks, including “The Devils,” releasing February 22.
“The Devils” is the lead track off of this album. It’s also an eerie introduction of what’s to come. Between the haunting from the get-go with booming gang vocals and shrewd guitar melodies. The new record serves as a successor to the dynamic 2019 release, Interrobang. Overall, There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive, shows that Bayside continues to captivate with a mix of introspective storytelling and a powerful blend of punk, rock and metal with the intent to leave their mark on the music scene.
Anthony Raneri on “The Devils”:
“We just wanted to write a ripper that keeps you on your toes. The chant was a melody that I kept humming to myself when I was walking my dogs. I put some words to it and we were going to use it as a bridge. We loved it so much that we thought the song had to start that way.”

Anthony Raveri adds:
“We’re so excited to be touring with a couple of real pioneers in this genre. It’s been close to 20 years since we played a show with either band. So excited to finally run it back.”
For the past 22 years, Queens-based Bayside has represented a lifestyle, a counter-culture and a deeply held conviction, diverse in thought and background but united by a shared desire for authentic expression. Bayside’s foundations comes from proving that music is not about gimmicks and ephemeral tracks, but a timeless reflection of our lives. It’s through this timelessness and consistency that they continue to cultivate a cult-following that lives and breathes everything created by the band. One thing that Bayside have always focused on is creating songs that are relevant to people who want substance rather than being relegated to one genre. In 2022, Bayside released The Red, the first EP that marks their first new music since their Interrobang album.
