Pop punk flag bearers Between You & Me will release their newest EP on April 5 following their release of the song “In The Middle.” The band’s North American tour, with the support of Young Culture, is also off and running.
“’In The Middle’ is about the realization that your relationship is over,” vocalist JT reflects. “The strong joy and excitement you once brought to each other’s lives had been replaced with fighting, bitterness, and complete breakdown in communication.”
The new single and forthcoming EP SH!T YEAH saw the band team up once again with producer Sam Guaiana, who might be pop punk’s current foremost producer. Between You & Me previously worked with Guaiana on their acclaimed 2021 album Armageddon.
The Australian natives made a strong impression with their triple j Like A Version debut and by performing the nostalgic crowd pleaser “All Star” by Smash Mouth.
SH!T YEAH is the band’s first independent body of work following Between You & Me’s time with Hopeless Records. If the first single is reflective of the rest of the six-song collection, it’s a progressive step forward for the band.
“The song encapsulates the slow breakdown of a relationship and the acceptance in moving on,” JT concludes.
