Oakland’s Mosswood Meltdown will make it’s long-awaited debut July 2 through 3 with punk icons Bikini Kill and Kim Gordon headlining. The festival, postponed for two years due to the pandemic, takes place at Mosswood Park.
John Waters, the cult filmmaker responsible for Hairspray and Pink Flaminos, will host. The lineup is well-packed throughout. Flipper, Pansy Division, and The Dirtbombs contribute to the ’90s appeal; Shannon Shaw (of Shannon and the Clams) and HUnx and His Punx move into the 21st century of garage rock, and The Linda Lindas look toward the future.
The festival is a rebrand of the now defunct Burger Burgaloo.
