Cybergrind trio Blind Equation have announced their new “Death In Colorful” tour which will have dates in East Asia and Australasia this spring. They will be touring alongside Your Arms Are My Cocoon, and additional support on selected dates will be provided by Soccer., Mouseatouille, and Deathtrippa. This is the first time Blind Equation are touring outside of the U.S. The tour will run from April 3 to May 2.
Blind Equation’s James McHenry shares his thoughts about the tour announcement:
“It’s been a dream of mine to tour overseas for such a long time, especially in Japan. It is always something that I would hope for the opportunity for one day, but never actively tried to plan something out there. My friend Dylan from Singapore who runs the booking company Dogswain had been a fan of us since 2020 and had been wanting to bring us over there for awhile. Back in March 2023, he reached out to me with the idea of wanting to bring us over to East Asia as he had some friends and connections over there. I obviously said yes, and we had been going back and forth with ideas amd planning for the run since then.
“During fall of 2023, he really wanted to bring Your Arms Are My Cocoon to East Asia as well, and suggested that I ask them to come along with us. I have been friends with Tyler from YAAMC ever since we played together in Milwaukee back in July 2022, and he was very down with the idea. We agreed that we wanted to hit Japan as well, and we slowly started adding more countries in the mix until what started as a five-day Southeast Asia tour turned into a five-week tour in countries I never imagined playing.
“It’s definitely a very ambitious tour to be doing DIY, but who knows if we will have another chance to do something like this again? Regardless, the promoters we have been in the talks with have been very excited to bring us over and have all been super helpful and accommodating in the process as well. This will be the longest tour Blind Equation has ever done, and will be our first shows outside of the U.S. We couldn’t be more excited. People have always asked us to play Australia, New Zealand as well as Japan and surrounding countries throughout the years, and I had always said “Maybe one day, I hope!” in the past. It feels good, that I can now confidently say “Yeah, we are playing there next month now.”
