Blondshell have released a new track, “What’s Fair,” on August 21. It’s already a live favorite, as she’s played it in recent festival sets. It’s jangly, sunny alt-rock that pays homage to the Southern California pop-punk scene. The bright melody contrasts with the weighty lyrics exploring complexities of mother-daughter relationships.

Her 2024 World Tour with Glass Animals and Bright Eyes is still going on, and there’s a lot more on the way. She has confirmed that the release of American Football LP1 Covers will be October 18. In addition to the release of “What’s Fair,” an accompanying music video has been released. It was directed by Julian Klincewicz.
Over the past year, the world has seen the rise of Blondshell’s star that’s been propelled by Sabrina Teitelbaum’s debut self-titled album in 2023. This album has garnered critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase. On top of all of this, she’s looking to release her nearly complete second album.
Sabrina Teitelbaum’s view on “What’s Fair”:
“I think that any relationship between a mother and a daughter is inherently complicated. Maybe it’s because of my own relationship, which was grounded in a lot of trauma and loss, but I think it’s always confusing. What are you allowed to expect, what is normal, what behavior from a parent is OK or not OK, etc? And to what extent does ‘normal’ even matter when your experience is all you have. I was just trying to sift through the past when I wrote this song and I mostly had a lot of questions.”
