Freya, the hardcore outfit from Northern Syracuse, New York, released a new, stand-alone single, “Bloodthirst.” The song meshes thrash metal instrumentals with the band’s distinguished hardcore vocals. Freya charges through this track with brazen intensity, showcasing their long term experience making music and time spent fine-tuning their craft over the past 20 years.
Produced by Upstate Records, the song blends genres and was meant to appeal to a wide audience base. The idea for “Bloodthirst” came from the depths of their gory-fied imaginations and is as violent as the title alludes.
“I’m not vegan or anything, but I was just thinking of this concept of some trophy hunters entering the forest killing and taking what they wanted and leaving the corpses of their victims to rot. I imagined a grizzly bear being fed up finding rotten deer, turkey, and whatever else on his daily trek. Full of rage, he is forced to fight back and chase the men out of the forest. Like Batman haha. But a pissed-off grizzly bear,” says the bands drummer Ethan D. Henry.
