News: Bob Mould Announces North American Tour Dates

Bob Mould

itLegendary guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and former Hüsker Dü guitarist and vocalist Bob Mould announced some North American tour dates for this fall.

He has a solo festival show coming up at the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco on August 13. There, he’s going to be opening for fellow punk legend Patti Smith. “In the late 1970s, at a record store signing event in Minneapolis, Patti graciously signed my ‘Because The Night’ 45 RPM picture sleeve,” Mould says regarding the opportunity to open for the punk rock pioneer. “Decades later, I’m thrilled to be on the bill with Patti and her band in such a unique and picturesque setting.”

Following that, he has a few shows with his band, starting with a show in Milwalkee, Wisconsin on August 26. The band will follow that with the Minnesota State Fair on September 2. There, they share the bill with The Hold Steady. “There are very few Bob Mould Band shows this year, and we’re honored to be part of the Hold Steady’s 20th Anniversary celebration,” says Mould.

After that, he has a solo electric tour with Jason Narducy opening on all dates. It kicks off in Washington. D.C. on October 6, then  passes through Jersey City, New Jersey; Providence, Rhode Island; and Chicago, Illinois. It wraps up on October 27 in Stoughton, Wisconsin. “I’m looking forward to hitting the road again this year, both solo and with the band,” Mould says. “Twenty-twenty-three is shaping up to be a pleasant mix of past, present, and future.”

Full details of the tour dates are available on Mould’s website. Mould will be promoting his new box set which chronicles his solo career and work with the band Sugar. There’s information about that box set on his website as well. Make sure to follow the iconic guitarist on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates.
