News: Body Count Is Back With New Single Ahead of Euro Tour

Body Count gave us “Psychopath” last week in preparation for their forthcoming album release. Merciless will coincide with a European Summer tour across the EU and UK which is set to kickoff on June 5th at Mystic Festival in Poland. The new single features Joe Bad, of Fit For An Autopsy, and, like the title alludes, it is an aggressive track with fast-paced power-chords and heavy drums, topped off by Bad’s gritty vocals.

“Psychopath” is a follow up to Body Count’s last single “Bum-Rush,” which won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance. Undoubtedly, that achievement has set the bar for high-expectations as they continue to debut their 2024 releases. As far as the inspiration for “Psychopath,” Ice-T said, “It started with the music. It sounds like what it’s like to be in a psychopath’s head. The track was psychotic, and it needed me to sing about something crazy.”

The group took a hiatus after their last album release Carnivore, which came out just as the pandemic began shutting the world down but this relentless posse wasn’t down for the count. Headed up by rap-legend Ice-T, they are gearing up to return to the stage after having surpassed their 30 year anniversary of creating metal mayhem together. The tour is expected to take over some of the biggest stages overseas and touch down in over a dozen countries.

Body Count originated in South Central Los Angeles and as it were, all of its members ended up being lifelong friends, having known each other since their high school days. Merciless is an incredible milestone for the group and the tour will be an unforgettable experience for anyone who gets to attend one of the upcoming shows.
