In an almost too-good-to-be-true announcement, comedian Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program, The Big Bang Theory, Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects) has revealed a comedy/metal album titled Grandpa Metal to be released February 14, 2020 via Megaforce Records.

The album’s long list of featured artists includes Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Scott Ian (Anthrax), Joe Trohman, and Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Al Yankovic (Weird Al), and Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), to name a few.

Posehn promises the 14-track album will cover a broad spectrum of the genre, venturing into black metal, 80s hair metal, and including covers of “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)” by Ylvis and “Take On Me” by A-ha.

Ian, who has previously appeared on Posehn’s Live In: Nerd Rage and Fart and Wiener Jokes, helped co-write most of the songs with Trohman and Brendon Small (“Metalocalypse”) helping to finish out the album. If you’re still not intrigued, check out Grandpa Metal‘s cover art featuring Metallica font, flames, and an assortment of assisted walking devices.
