Cancer Christ vocalist Anthony Mehlhaff was taken into custody on Wednesday after a series of dramatic events. Before being arrested, the 40-year-old singer was seen doing several dangerous and threatening acts for which he was charged with vandalism, vehicle theft, reckless driving, kidnapping, theft, first-degree burglary, robbery, obstructing an officer, and battery.

According to a Los Angeles Times article, Mehlhaff initiated his activities in an area called Buck Meadows which is near Mariposa County. He reportedly touched the stomach of a waitress who is pregnant, saying to her: “The spirits led me to you and your baby belongs to me,” with other more comments.

Right after that, in Mariposa County sheriff Jeremy Briese’s words, “Mehlhaff then stole several drinks, assaulted another employee of the restaurant, and sped off in his vehicle towards Yosemite National Park.” He then continued to strip to his underwear and attempted to kidnap a store manager. Next, he allegedly stole the manager’s car, which he rammed with another and then made a crash. He was arrested after that. When he was being checked out at a local hospital, Mehlhaff allegedly assaulted deputies as well.

Briese adds:

“This man drove all around our county terrorizing our visitors and community members. I am extremely happy that no one was seriously injured. This man’s behavior was erratic and dangerous.”

Following the incident,  Cancer Christ had been removed from their upcoming tour with GWAR.
