Pioneering death metal band Carcass have announced a new EP titled Despicable which will be out on Nuclear Blast on October 30. To wet your chops in anticipation of the coming feats, Carcass have released a new single, “The Long And Winding Bier Road,” which you can check out below:

What is the “The Long And Winding Bier Road” all about? Well, let’s ask vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker: “The gift that keeps on giving, if you want it or not. Please try not to stare this gift horse too hard in the mouth … another song from the forthcoming EP taken from the new album recording session … don’t worry, there are still unreleased songs with even dafter titles!”

As to why the great Carcass are shaking off the dust of their slumber for a new EP, Walker offered the following: “Well, the COVID situation has put the release of the new Carcass album on the backburner for the time being. Given that we said there’d be new music in August, we thought it would be cool to have a stopgap release and let you hear some of the tracks that never quite made the cut. Don’t say we never give you anything. Enjoy.”
