Baltimore-area band Cherie Amour release its latest track “Storm” in the leadup to the band’s cross country tour and October 20 EP release. The versatile, alternative group will join Guccihighwaters and Oliver Francis in support of Jake Hill.
“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Storm’ at a time where I was basically at financial rock bottom,” vocalist Trey Miller explained. “I couldn’t find a job and I was doing all this negative self-talk but I’d take these walks by the Susquehanna River and remind myself that even in bad seasons of life there is so much love around me.”
“Storm” is a scaled back, percussion-light and vocal-focused track. The song steers clear of heavy power chords and guitar breakdowns, utilizing an acoustic-focused melody. It’s a bright tune that could find a home on both rock playlists and in coffee shops.
“I wanted the song to stir up that same feeling of encouragement I had and inspire people to show love to others,” Miller continued.
Cherie Amour is ascending up the scene ranks, recently opening for alternative star Kennyhoopla at a historic venue in Washington, D.C. In an ever-evolving music industry that values sound versality, Cherie Amour certainly fits the mold.
