Chicago dream punk trio Old Coke are thrilled to reveal the release of their debut EP, Sorted. Getting their start in 2019 as a bedroom project and growing piece-by-piece ever since, the three-piece come together cohesively on their debut to produce five tracks of dreamy, punk rock. The band are comprised of Christopher Ruiz on guitars and vocals, Eddy Garcia on bass, and Ethan Toenjes on drums.
With Sorted, Old Coke executes a seesaw of soothing string work and upbeat energy to create a nicely balanced, heartfelt musical atmosphere. Developing gusts of hardcore-infused turbulence ignite opener “Bottled,” giving way to the the more grunge-felt melodies within “Slope.”
Soothing waves of shimmering chords construct the band’s shoegazing identity in the upbeat and spacey “Dropped,” and in turn, “A While” comes buttoned up with a punky punch. Playful percussion works in tandem with Garcia’s distorted-yet-articulate, bass tone to develop the band’s lush, rhythmic underbelly. This provides the perfect cushion for the mellow voice of Ruiz to find a settling comfort.

Sorted track list:
1. Bottle
2. Slope
3. Dropped
4. A While
5. Night Time Slope
