After announcing their upcoming EP Sentiment Valley, set to be released on November 8, alternative rock band CHIEFLAND have dropped their new single, “Bad Move.” This track, with its strong emo-rock vibe, dives deep into pain and longing, blending intense emotions with a musical force that doesn’t go unnoticed.
“Bad Move” grabs you from the first chord, with heart-wrenching vocals, tension-filled guitar riffs, and relentless drums, creating an atmosphere that swings between suffering and hope. Lead singer Christopher Hiller explains:
“It’s a song about loss, that feeling that consumes you and won’t let go. You long for what once was—and with that, for the impossible. Because that state will never return.”
For this track, CHIEFLAND invited Christine Goodwyne, vocalist of the American band Pool Kids, to collaborate. Known for their powerful mix of math-rock and emo, Pool Kids won over audiences during their recent tour with La Dispute in Germany, where CHIEFLAND discovered them. Bassist Lucas Keitel reflects:
“We saw them live in Hamburg and were blown away by the band’s energy. So it was awesome when Christine agreed to collaborate with us on this song.”
