In the world of vinyl delays and physical shortages, two bands and a record label set out with a dream to stand tall, defy the supply chain disruption, and revive the surprise release. Enter Detroit punk and metal figureheads Child Bite, Baltimore noise rock up-and-comers Multicult, and Syracuse label Hex Records.
The three have joined forces for a powerful split 12-inch to both please and disrupt the masses. After approximately three years of delays, mishaps, and business tomfoolery, the two bands and the record label unveil the product to the world. Limited to 300 copies with screen printed covers, it is going to go quickly.
Multicult opens the first side of the split, delivering three of their off-kilter cuts full of noodly guitars and spring-loaded percussion. Child Bite blasts three ripping tracks that feature famed guest drummer Urian Hackney (The Armed, Rough Francis, Converge), including the first single “Pass The Glue,” a raucous tune about sniffing glue, which you can hear below.
The split will be available digitally July 1 via Hex Records, but you can choose a wax copy that ships immediately. You have the option of lime green or solid white 12-inch records, both limited to 150, and up for grabs here. If you miss out you can also grab one of the limited copies Child Bite have with them on the few dates they have with Psychic Graveyard below:
