With the release of Citizen’s upcoming LP, Calling The Dogs—due out on October 6 via Run For Cover Records—the band are continuing to create memorable tracks that are dynamic in character. Their latest single, “Hyper Trophy,” is a perfect example of the aforementioned statement. Within it, Citizen showcase an infectious hook and create a rhythmic sensation through a buzzing bass line and dance-worthy beat. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by guitarist Mason Mercer.
Of the new record, guitarist Nick Hamm states: “On ‘Calling The Dogs,’ it truly is the most excited and energized the band has been in a really long time. This album makes me feel like I’m 19 again—It’s like therapy or something. It sent a lightning bolt through everybody that worked on it. We’re ready to go.”
