Grammy-nominated metallic hardcore outfit Code Orange have dropped a new music video for “Autumn and Carbine,” which debuted during Adult Swim’s Toonami broadcast this past Saturday, January 23.

The animated video was directed and animated by the band’s own Eric ‘Shade’ Balderose and Jami Morgan (of NOWHERE2RUN Productions) and follows the members of Code Orange as they enter a dystopian wasteland and confront the thieving overlords of a ruined future society. The band also improvised DIY, motion-capture techniques to animate the various performance scenes in the video, which is streaming now on their official YouTube channel.

The track features on the band’s highly acclaimed, fourth album, Underneath (2020), available now through Roadrunner Records, alongside additional singles such as “Sulfur Surrounding” and the explosive “Swallowing The Rabbit Whole.”

Underneath represented a creative and critical high mark for Code Orange, closing out 2020 on multiple music publication year-end lists. Produced by Morgan and Nick Raskulinecz with co-producer Will Yip, Underneath features additional programming from Chris Vrenna, and was mixed by Yip and Balderose. Furthermore, Code Orange have also garnered a 2021 Grammy Award-nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance” for the record’s title track “Underneath.”
