Cold War Kids have returned with their new single, “Another Name,” ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Cold War Kids, out November 3.
This piano-laden tune from the Long Beach natives is a result of vocalist/pianist Nathan Willett’s final session with his longtime therapist, aligned with his first serendipitous meeting with producer Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer).
A fortuitous bond was formed between the two, resulting in Willett sharing details of that final therapy session with Gruska.
“I started telling Ethan about it, which could have been really awkward with someone I’d never met. It’s not easy to walk into a room and just write a song with a stranger. But instead, it was totally natural. The song came out almost fully formed, and it was probably the single best experience I’ve ever had working with a producer.”
