Calling all diehard Dark Funeral fans, because this one’s for you! It is now officially the 30th anniversary of these black metal legends’ debut album, and to celebrate, they have just released a reworked version, Dark Funeral (30th Anniversary Edition). The new recordings have been produced by Century Media Records, remixed by David Castillo, and remastered by the original re-master Thomas “Plec” Johansson.
This anniversary edition has not only been remastered but also re-recorded by the group’s current members. Reigning founder Lord Ariman is the only member who was a part of the initial members of the band back in 1993. With this new re-recorded version, all members, old and new, will have put their stamp on what has become Dark Funeral’s most defining album.
Three different versions of the album were made available on limited-edition vinyl. Of those, was a Century Media exclusive vinyl which included signed Art Print but it has already sold out. You can also purchase the album on a CD jewelcase.
Starting this October, they will be embarking on a U.S. tour supporting GWAR alongside Squid Pisser. This is not a lineup you are going to want to miss. Find tour dates in a city near you and tickets here.
