Dillinger Escape Plan have announced their biggest headline show to date on August 24 at The Salt Shed, Chicago. The performance will be a celebration of the 25 years of their highly praised 1999 debut album Calculating Infinity.
The album will be played at its entirety with co-founder and original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis. Founding guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Liam Wilson, and drummer Billy Rymer will be backing Dimitri. Dillinger Escape Plan originally disbanded back in 2017 after three mind blowing performances at Terminal 5 in New York City. Ben Weinman shares his thoughts:
“When first announcing the Calculating Infinity anniversary show in Brooklyn, we could have never imagined the response. It reminded us that the Dillinger Escape Plan is not just a band of five dudes, but a force that embodies so many different elements, including the passion of all of our followers. The announcement of our warm up set at No Values Fest in Pomona has brought a lot of requests, particularly in reference to us not forgetting about the Midwest. So here you go folks. Our biggest headline show in history, at one of the coolest new venues in the world!”
Vocalist Dimitri Minakakis says:
“It’s been a long time coming for this opportunity to perform in a project I helped create over 25 years ago. Having the chance to celebrate 25 years of ‘Calculating Infinity’ with my closest friends in life is just a dream turned real. I’m looking forward to seeing all the old faces, as well as all the new ones. The Dillinger Escape Plan has always been more than just a band. We were a force of nature. This reunion show is our way of thanking the fans who have stood by us and the album we made in a small basement in NJ all those years ago.”
