Minneapolis indie-pop band, Early Eyes, have released their new five-track EP, Sunbathing, via Epitaph Records.

Vocalist Jake Berglove says on the new EP:

“This batch of tracks almost feels like a time-capsule of our pre-pandemic optimism; of hopefulness: A feeling we find more and more difficult to feel, but dichotomously more important to be feeling. Being stuck in this in-between space of uncertainty has, at times, made Sunbathing sound more like memories than music to us. They’re like a letter left from our past selves to our future selves, to hopefully have some time to appreciate those carefree and peaceful moments. Moments like eating the perfect toast for breakfast, petting the cat, or even going for a night bike ride.”

Early Eyes started out as a hobby for its five members – Jake Berglove (vocals/guitar), Joe Villano (guitar), John O’Brien (guitar), Des Lawrence (bass), and Wyatt Fuller (drums) – in 2016, but the band quickly became more than that, becoming one of local venue First Avenue’s Best New Bands of 2017 and a nominee for Minneapolis City Pages’ Best New Band in 2018, as well as signing to Epitaph in early 2020.
