Alternative rock band Ellen May release their new song “How It Came To This.” The track is just the third on streaming platforms from the band, but it’s clear the group will find a cozy home with the Midwest emo and pop-punk crowd.
“’How It Came To This’ is a song based on wondering just that,” the band say. “Often we’re left wondering how did a relationship with someone become such a distant memory.”
The production of “How It Came To This” is slick featuring a familiar emo and pop-punk base sound with plenty of bells and whistles worked in. It’s a perfect progression from the band’s other streamtable tracks “Home,” and “Where The Heart Lies.”
“Looking back and hoping the other person still thinks about us, whilst also being happy we’ve all moved on happens, even if it’s just a friendship,” the band continue. “This song explores the thoughts and feelings of this exact moment when you’re with your own thoughts and reminiscing on life.”
Surely, this is just the beginning for the Perth, Australia natives. The two piece is looking for a third member and hopes to start taking its music to the stage in April.
