Colorado rock group Elway share two new singles, “Laugh Track” and “Better Whenever (At Ten),” which arrive ahead of the band’s new LP. The upcoming record, titled Nobody’s Going To Heaven, is expected to be released this fall through Red Scare Industries.
A thrilling glimpse into Elway’s soon-to-be seventh album, both songs seem to be two sides of one coin. While “Laugh Track” is an upbeat punk anthem, “Better Whenever (At Ten)” is a melancholy piano ballad supported flawlessly by raw and vulnerable vocals.
“Laugh Track” arrives alongside a music video featuring a montage of different U.S. presidents. The song explores American imperialism, and the narrator finds themselves contemplating a world that has been ravaged by wars that American often wages.
Regarding the new single, Elway frontman Tim Browne says, “The psychic toll of war is congenital. It is passed like a mutation through the generations in America. This song is about how I came to learn how endemic war is in our culture and it proposes, if not insists, for this utter madness to end with us.”
Elway have a number of exciting live shows this year, including Pouzza Fest later this month. The group will also embark on a North American tour alongside Sam Russo this month, and will make an appearance at The Fest in Gainsville, Florida this October.
