Emo stars First and Forever prepare for a new EP with the release of their latest track, “Rivers.” The new EP, titled If We Go Down, drops on June, 14.
“’Rivers’ hits as heavy in meaning as it does in melody,” the band say. “We’ve all had times where we’ve felt helpless and hopeless, and sometimes that pain never leaves you. As the song states, it haunts you.”
“Rivers” features a thick melody, juxtaposing a smashing chorus with muted vocals in the verses and bridge. It’s heartfelt, a rock-emo blend. The track pairs nicely with some of the First and Forever’s breakneck, recent releases.
The band recently teased the upcoming EP release with an at-first-glance cryptic Instagram post. It (jokingly) foreshadowed a breakup, before changing tones to announce the upcoming EP. Consider our emotions played with, First and Forever!
“This is a very dynamic EP,” the band continue. “And ‘Rivers’ was a track that took us to new depths as a band.”
