Fit For An Autopsy on The Nothing That Is:

The Nothing That Is is a full realization of our identity and intention. Every song on this record serves a purpose, and it feels like our most dynamic and powerful album to date. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

They are going on a headlining tour this fall across the United States with Bodysnatcher, Distant, Sylosis, and Judiciary.

Fit For An Autopsy are a six piece band that success hasn’t spoiled, but as any fan of the band will say, there was never much chance of that happening to start with. The current lineup of Fit For An Autopsy is Joe Badolato (vocals), Will Putney (guitar), Patrick Sheridan (guitar), Tim Howley (guitar), Peter Blue Spinazola (bass), and Josean Orta Martinez (drums).

Their acclaimed 2022 album, On What The Future Holds, was the band’s highest charting release to date. It became one of their first six full length albums to reach teh Top 25 of the Billboard 200. Whilst some musicians would be taking this achievement as a cue to replicate whatever worked the last time or tailor their sound to further commercial appeal, they continued to grow and evolve along their own path. The Nothing that Is will be Fit For An Autopsy’s seventh album in their career, but third with Nuclear Blast. There are no signs whatsoever of commercial concession or rehashed past glories within these tunes, but something new. They are currently exploring moodier textures and deeper emotions to add new power and dynamics to their already brutally complex music, yet tuning out the expectations of the outside world.

The album was produced by Putney at his Graphic Nature Audio studio in Kinnelon, New Jersey. It’s an album  filled with anger, frustration and crushing despair. There are songs like “Hostage” and “Lower Purpose” that grapple with horrors that the human race have unnecessarily inflicted upon the world, as well as others such as “The Silver Sun” that reflect bitterly upon our uncertain future. It was built to be listened in a single sitting as a whole. The album is delivered with the confidence of a band with over fifteen years of experience and who have secured their spot in the metal firmament.
