Richmond, VA blackened death metal band Foretoken shared info about their debut live shows, set to take place in May and June. The band will be gigging in support of their latest release, Triumphs, which is available now.
Songs on Triumphs include the tale of the Persian epic poem Shahnameh, written by Persian poet Ferdowsi as referenced in “Serpent King’s Venom,” Zhong Kui, the mythological Chinese King of Ghosts featured in “Demon Queller,” and Mexico’s The Weeping Woman, La Llorona featured in “The Wraith That Weeps.” 
In addition to the previously mentioned live shows, Foretoken have also revealed their new line-up, evolving from a duo to a quintet. Here’s what the band had to say.
Guitarist Steve Redmond comments:
“We’re stoked to finally be able to bring these songs to the stage! We think our newest members Chris, Andrew, and Tweed, are killer additions to the lineup and we’re excited for what’s to come!”
Dan Cooley (vocals) adds:
“Andrew, Chris, and Tweed are not only cool to hang out with but are amazing musicians. We’re really looking forward to playing live and meeting our fans!”
Drummer Chris Hylton says:
“I was a fan of Foretoken before Steve asked me to join the band, and these songs have been a blast to learn. I’m looking forward to helping bring the songs to the stage.”
Bassist Mike Tweed states:
“I am stoked to be jamming with Steve and Dan again as we bring symphonic death metal to the stage.”
Lastly, guitarist Andrew Matthews comments:
“I’m honored to be asked to bring Foretoken to the stage and look forward to playing many shows with these fine fellas.”
