Pop punk dynamos Free Friends and SUCKERPUNCH join forces on a new song titled “Checkpoint.” The East Coast natives are aided by Grammy nominated engineer and producer Eric Taft of The Great Heights Band.
“’Checkpoint’ dives into life’s twists and turns, presenting a raw and relatable tale set to the rhythm of an infectious melody. It’s a song that explores the things we hold dear, the fears we face and the dreams that keep us up at night,” the band says.
The band further describes the track as its “musical handshake,” and a song the band wrote together.
“Through its verses, it paints a picture of the journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the connections that bind us. It’s about the trial and triumphs, the laughter in the midst of chaos, and the beauty of growing through what we go through.”
“Checkpoint” is paced by an absorbing hook and driving drum beat. The chorus is catchy and the lyrics resonate.
“With the ups and downs of everyday life, reminding us that in the end, what we truly need isn’t that far away,” the band continues,
Free Friends just wrapped up a quick run with Kings Of The Wild Things, but expect them to be back on the road soon. Check out more information on the band here.
