Pop punk trio Free Friends team up with Riot House’s Jack The Underdog on their cover of the Miley Cyrus song “Used To Be Young.” It’s the first time these two acts have worked together.
“Working with Jack The Underdog has been awesome—such a great guy and super helpful,” the band say.
The talents of the two mesh perfectly on the cover, with the vocal of Free Friends singer Ben DeHan complimenting those of Jack Ohmes. The track steadily builds with an explosive chorus and the fan favorite “woah ohs” mixed.
The Cyrus classic is turned into a club-smashing, mosh-pit inducing hit.
“’Used To Be Young’ is our tribute to the unforgettable emo and punk anthems that scored our wildest days,” the band say.
For those in the Mid-Atlantic, or anyone willing to make a road trip, Free Friends will be covering Yellowcard songs at an upcoming show in Maryland. But the band plan to perform “Used To Be Young” for the first time.
“It’s a heartfelt nod to nostalgia, blending the raw energy and wisdom that have shaped us. The music that moves with us,” Free Friends continue.
