The solo project of Kevin Tiernan (Mighty Tortuga) delivers a mesmerizing display of modern alternative rock. The track are adorned with emo tones and injections of melodic punk.
Crafted during the pandemic and brought to life on debut single “Old Frame,” Tiernan strives to do something that feels fresh and uncomfortable with the new iteration. Taking himself to “frightful places” in order to achieve a sonic identity that explores intricate guitar work and heart-on-sleeve lyricism, the EP is expressive and immersive, nodding to the emo revival whilst sparking elements of the melodic punk present on Tiernan’s former project Moving Brooklyn.
Recorded with Chris Teti (The World Is A Beautiful Place…) at Silver Bullet Studios, the dazzling debut nods to the likes of Turnover, Citizen and Title Fight, showcasing a moving but delightful accessible display of modern emo.
