Few bands produce prime-sounding pop-punk as well as FRND CRCL. And from the quintessential suburban state, the New Jersey natives release their latest album Suburban Dictionary.
“F*ck being mainstream—This album is for the ones that never fit in. It’s for the rejects and their circle of friends ‘cuz that’s what we’re really about,” the band say.
The album features singles “Fuck California,” an East Coast-proud track, and the breakneck “ADHD.” But each of the album’s 14 songs really pop with individuality.
From the melodies to the lyrics and the overall ambience, Suburban Dictionary feels like it belongs with all the iconic pop punk albums released in the early 2000s.
For the moment, FRND CRCL are an independent band. The trio recently posted about the work their team put into the new album.
“The industry is an ever-fluctuating beast,” the band state on Instagram. “But for the moment, we couldn’t be more happy to be operating as an independent band. All the artwork, music, vynl, merch, etc. was done by our team.”
