News: From a Second Story Window to Release ‘Recompose’ 7″

From A Second Story Window

From a Second Story Window reunited last year and are set to to release their new 7″ vinyl single Recompose. The song is being released through Black Market Activities, the label established by Guy Kozowyk, the vocalist of The Red Chord. The Recompose vinyl consists of two tracks titled “Earthen Eyes” and “So Say We All” which were released earlier this year. It marks the Ohio band’s return to putting out a physical release since their album Conversations was released in 2008.

FASSW’s Paul Misko shares his thoughts:

“I wrote the bones for these two new songs in Austin, TX, and we worked on them remotely before I moved back to Ohio to be near the band again. These two songs, for me, were about incorporating all of the things I wanted to do musically with this band but never got the chance to since we broke up before our final record, Conversations, came out in 2008. It was a chance to revisit how our sound could have evolved if we had stayed a band, while bringing in new influences I’ve picked up over the years and approaching writing as a more mature person and musician. We have many more songs in the works and are hoping to re-enter the studio this fall.”

While the tracks are streaming in all platforms, the vinyl will be released in the summer 2024.

The band’s upcoming shows include a weekend of shows with Through the Eyes of the Dead, on the East Coast, on June 1st and 2nd. The tour will begin in Brooklyn, NY, and the band will travel north to Boston, MA in support of The Red Chord, who will be celebrating the reissue of their debut album Fused Together in Revolving Doors. The band are to play in Furnace Fest in October this year as well.
