Pennsylvania pop-punkers Goalkeeper release “Back Hole,” the trio’s first tune off its upcoming EP Pins And Needles. The new music is a shade darker than Goalkeeper’s past work, but it provides all the bounce and positive energy the band is known for.
“’Black Hole’ is a raw, high-energy song that dives deep into the struggle of battling anxiety with the desperate urge to escape,” bassist Marc Juliano says.
The track wastes no time, with every instrument and vocal track cranked into the red from the song’s opening verse. You can picture Juliano spinning in unison to singer Ryan Beebe’s boomeranging vocals in the chorus. And the vocal solo in the song’s waning moments is gut wrenching.
“We wanted to pair it with fierce instrumentation and powerful lyrics, so it speaks to anyone feeling trapped in their mind,” Juliano concludes.
“Black Hole” is an elevated version of Goalkeeper. The crew has clearly climbed to a new level and the EP is one of the more anticipated pop-punk works of the year.
Goalkeeper is about to tour with Calling All Captains. It’s a must attend stretch of shows for pop-punk fans. Learn more about the new music and upcoming shows here.
