North Dakota death metal/grind faction Gorgatron recently unleashed their lyric video for the ripping track, “Insurmountable.” The newest single comes loaded with blasting double bass, technical riffage, and a sci-fi-infused atmosphere.
“Insurmountable” is taken from the bands upcoming record Pathogenic Automation, which is set to release independently August 28 with worldwide, digital distribution via Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast).
Anchored in the old-school stylings of death and thrash, the nine-track Pathogenic Automation was recorded by the band, mixed and mastered by Gorgatron guitarist Neal Stein (El Supremo, Egypt), and spews forth a 41-minute maelstrom of sonic brutality punctuated by a variety of introspective themes.
“I write a lot of lyrics about cybernetic organisms,” elaborates vocalist Karl Schmidt of the tracks themes. “This tune is about a person who puts his brain into a robot to escape his crippling existential doubt. Somehow, he finds solace in mechanization.”
