Solo pop-punk artist Harry Jxye releases his newest single “Daddy Issues.” It’s the artist’s first song this year and a follow up to his debut EP King Of The Unseen.
“’Daddy Issues’ delivers into the raw emotions and chaotic dynamics of a turbulent relationship within an alternative subculture,” the musicain says. “With vivid imagery, it portrays a person grabbling with heartbreak, trust issue and daddy-releated struggles.”
The upbeat song draws on one of genre’s best tropes: utilizing an upbeat melody interlaced with dark lyrics. Harry Jxye smartly blends auto-tuned vocals without using it as a crutch.
Fans of scene lore will appreciate the references to Fall Out Boy, Hot Topic, and Blue Banana. The storytelling is excellent.
“The lyrics explore the allure of toxic connections,” Harry Jxye continues. “And the aftermath of the emotional pain and provide a vivid backdrop into the journey. Overall, ‘Daddy Issues’ creates a compelling musical and emotional landscape, inviting listeners to a world where love intersects with the unique elements of an alternative lifestyle.”
Harry Jxye will spend the next week touring in support of his new music. Take a look at his upcoming shows here.
