News: Hideous Divinity Schooling Fans with New Video, ‘Mysterium Tremendum’

The most salaciously-named band in technical, brutal death metal—Hideous Divinity—are back with a new, standalone single, “Mysterium Tremendum.” And the Italian quartet are hinting at even more decimating material to come.

“It is time for Hideous Divinity to face a new monster,” the band say in a statement. “A predator that brings extinction, both impersonal and horrific. He is the ‘world-not-for-us’ that we must acknowledge in horror. ‘Mysterium Tremendum’ introduces a new chapter in the life of Hideous Divinity. A new concept, under the sign of Werner Herzog and Eugene Thacker.”

Spawned in Italy and Norway in late 2006 as a side project, Hideous Divinity now boast an illustrious career consisting of four full-lengths, an EP, a demo and a smattering of singles.

It’s not yet apparent whether the marauders will pull out a fifth LP from up their sleeve later in 2023. Their statement simply referred to “Mysterium Tremendum” (not to be confused with Lord Dying‘s 2019 album of the same name) as “the first taste of what’s to come from the band this year.”

Already underway, however, is Hideous Divinity’s participation on the “The Devils European Aufmarsch 2023 Tour” with Belphegor, Kampfar, and others.
