Husbands have just dropped their third single, “Face Molt”, from their upcoming album, Cuatro, out October 13th, on Thirty Tigers. The Oklahoma City natives provide listeners with a cathartic, creative and exhilarating track, promising to have everyone singing along after the first play.
Member Danny Davis expressed how “Face Molt” came about, discussing his feelings toward quitting his 9-to-5 job and moving to Costa Rica for two months:
“I wrote this song the first week I was there, on a high hill overlooking the ocean, sitting beside a swimming pool. Already, I was feeling the transformative power of being in a place I love, free of a 40+ hour timesuck that didn’t lineup with my interests or values. There’s so much wildlife here and Costa Ricans have integrated it into their culture more than anywhere else in the world, so it feels fitting to liken this transformation to the molting certain animals do, when they shed their old skin to make room for new growth.”
