Iggy Pop sets a date for the release of his new album EVERY LOSER, which will drop on January 6. It is the artist’s 19th solo album and first through Atlantic Records and Gold Tooth Records. The new label is founded by the GRAMMY winning, multi-platinum producer, Andrew Watt.
The announcement follows the release of the opening track and first single “Frenzy.” It harkens back to Iggy’s primordial roots, underpinned by modern lyrics reflecting growth in the musician’s songwriting capabilities.
“I’m the guy with no shirt who rocks; Andrew and Gold Tooth get that,” Iggy said in a recent statement. “The players are guys I’ve known since they were kids and the music will beat the shit out of you.”
EVERY LOSER will feature 11 songs being hyped as a “master class in the art of lashing out” according to Iggy Pop’s team.
The cover of EVERY LOSER is an original piece of art created by world renowned contemporary fine artist Raymond Pettibon. He has been designing iconic art albums since the late 70s, working with legends like Sonic Youth and Black Flag.
The new album will also be available as limited edition vinyl, cassettes and CDs.
Andrew Watt’s diverse array of credits includes working with Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Ozzy Osbourne and more.
